Munga Eco Lodge TripAdvisor Guest Reviews
Munga is the perfect place to experience the thrill of sleeping in an African rammed earth mud hut, with thatched roof, without forfeiting Western comforts. The chalets are beautiful and offer lots of privacy, each with its own courtyard and space to relax. The bed is large and comfortable, with mosquito nets, and there is an indoor bath and outdoor shower. The eco-pool is one of the nicest I have ever swam in - cleaned by natural means rather than with chemicals, through the use of water lilies, which leaves the skin feeling soft rather than damaged afterwards.

This is a one-of-a-kind hotel. Instead of motel style rooms, each is designed more like a boma; on entering you first have a very large area for relaxing, part outdoor, part covered. Then the main room has a walk-around bed, with plenty of storage space and a desk. The bathroom is complete with modern fittings, but maintaining a traditional look. Outside there is a shower - and if you haven't had this experience, believe me it is not to be missed. Outside your "boma" there are beautiful public areas. The bar and restaurant are excellent; I had breakfast and dinner there. Instead of the usual chlorine swimming pool they have an eco-pool, which looked great.

As the taxi took a secondary and unpaved road, I thought he misunderstood the address or that we were scammed, as soon as I arrived at destination, I was stunned by the beauty of the property, immersed in the most enchanting nature. The staff has been very helpful with every our need, and the quality of food was very good. The room in our cottage was very nice and cozy, and having a small patio for ourselves made the stay extremely comfortable.

Our family really enjoyed the eco-lodge. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. During our visit, the government shut down the border crossing for a VIP celebration. The staff worked around a shortage of resources to make our stay memorable. The accommodations were just right and anytime of year is a good time to visit Livingstone.

Charming and quiet. Rooms are well designed with private outdoor areas to relax in. Personal touches such as mint tea on arrival make you feel welcome and when I expressed interest in local birds the owner shared book and bird song scanner. Fabulous place to unwind.

Munga Village is a wonderful place to stay. All the staff were exceptionally hospitable, helpful and friendly and made us feel so comfortable. Our lodge was private and spacious and the outdoor shower added a lovely touch. It is also conveniently located close to the Zambian-Zimbabwe border.

We visited the Victoria Falls at the end of a four week trip through South Africa, Namibia and Botswana. we were looking for a quiet, small independent, quality hotel to visit the falls and finish off our journey. Munga Eco Lodge fitted the bill perfectly. The bungalows consist of a spacious bedroom, Bathroom toilet and outside shower (all separate) and a private courtyard and sitting area, all built from local materials. The common areas are comfortable and the staff are brilliant and couldn't do enough to make our stay a pleasant one, organising trips and taxis and offering advice. The wifi was the most reliable we came across in all of our trip too!

Exciting accommodation in old-fashioned and stylish African-style chalets. Nice location, nice wood and extremely kind staff. The activities (ie guided tour to the Victoria Falls, bush safaris with lions, cheetahs and elephants, visit to crocodile farm nearby) available, are excellent and worth every penny spent. Many thanks to every staff member - you are great.
